Psychotherapy in Starnberg
WELCOME
Psychotherapy helps people through difficult periods in their lives and is a way to move on when life hurts or seems pointless.
There can be many different reasons to go to psychotherapy. Most people seek help because there is something in their life that is bothering them and affecting their lifequality. They may be struggling with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, stress, inferiority, shyness, or bullying. They may also have a traumatic experience, be in crisis, or need help moving forward in life for other reasons.
However, psychotherapy can also help people who are not in crisis but want to learn more about themselves and who want to grow professionally or personally. Psychotherapy usually is an individual session, but couples and families can also receive help and resource-strengthening tools as well.
What is psychotherapy about?
Psychotherapy is a form of mental health treatment that involves talking to a trained therapist about one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
The goal of psychotherapy is to help individuals better understand and manage their emotions, overcome challenges and obstacles, and improve their overall well-being. Psychotherapy can be beneficial for a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. It can be conducted in individual or group settings, and various therapeutic approaches may be used.
Psychotherapy provides a supportive and confidential environment where individuals can work through their challenges and achieve a greater sense of self-awareness and fulfillment.
The duration of psychotherapy treatment varies from person to person, with some individuals needing just a few sessions, while others may require a more prolonged process. The speed at which progress is made also differs, with some people experiencing quicker results than others. Ultimately, the length of treatment is dependent on the individual’s specific needs and circumstances.
Therapeutic work
I use methods from cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused brief therapy. In my therapeutic work I deal with what is behind the behavior, patterns and emotions of the individual. In therapy, I see it as my part to be supportive, listening and appreciative of the process that needs to emerge there. To help you to a new understanding, integration of new (rediscovery) qualities for more balance in you and your life.
